Powderwhore Productions, a backcountry ski film company based out of Utah, will be showing its new movie titled “Choose Your Adventure” at the Crooked Creek Saloon in Fraser at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5.

“We’re excited to bring the movie to Colorado,” said Jonah Howell of Powderwhore Productions. “There is always good people and a good turnout.”

The crew released the movie in their hometown of Salt Lake City and is now making the rounds to 50 ski towns across the country.

“So far, the movie has been received very well,” Howell said. “We like to add a lot of humor to the production and people really seem to respond.”

With exotic locations such as Chile, France, the Antarctic, Alaska, and Canada, this feature-length film appeals to intrepid adventurers.

Howell commented that his favorite location to film was in the Antarctic Peninsula where they were shooting lines that had never been attempted before.

The crew of Powderwhore Productions includes some of the most recognizable names in the ski and snowboard world, they also sport some of the most sought after sponsors in the industry.

Some of the athletes that are followed by the film crew include: Hugo Harrison, Jake Sackson, Noah Howell, Andrew Mclean, Dylan Freed, Chris Davenport, and Seth Wescott.

PY Leblanc, a skier from British Columbia, was one of Howell’s favorite athletes to film due to his energy about the sport and the massive cliff lines he has been dropping.

“He had some really cool things to say about why he does what he does,” Howell said.

The crew followed these powder junkies to explore what their motivations are for heading into the mountains and to capture their actions as they drop cliffs in British Columbia, blast threw chest deep powder, and explore some remote areas in Antarctica.

“We wanted to show the diversity of back-country skiing by showing the different people and places in the sport,” Howell said.

Whether the athletes are hopping from meadow to meadow or dropping crazy decents, the filmmakers show all of the different adventures that can be had in the backcountry.

“We wanted to try and put something in for everyone,” Howell said.
