Slash pile burn season closed

Sky-Hi staff report
news@skyhinews.com

The Grand County Division of Natural Resources has closed slash pile burning for the season. Grand County DNR operates the open burn season during the winter months only; when sufficient snow is covering the ground to lessen the danger of fire. The closure of open burning affects permitted fires only, piles exceeding three feet in diameter, and does not affect recreational fires (campfires), production agriculture burning or public land management agency burning conducted by the USFS, BLM or the Colorado State Forest Service. If you have any questions, contact the Division of Natural Resources at 887-0745 or visit online at http://www.gcgovernment.com/142/open-burning.
