Snow returns to the forecast this week

Rain and snow may continue in Grand County tonight, but that’s just a prelude to a winter storm that’s expected Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service says.

A more powerful storm should bring rain showers and thunderstorms into the region Tuesday afternoon. The system will also bring much colder temperatures that will likely produce snow and some accumulation.

The forecast for tonight is rain and snow before midnight and then snow after midnight.

On Tuesday, there’s a chance of rain or snow before noon. Snow should continue Tuesday night. If temperatures dip low enough, areas in Colorado near the Wyoming border could get more than two feet of snow.

Snow should continue Wednesday. There is a chance of snow each day for the rest of the work week, the National Weather Service says.
