Snow, strong winds expected on Colorado Plains
DENVER (AP) – Snow is falling along Colorado’s Front Range and the heaviest accumulations so far have been around Greeley and Fort Collins, where up to 5 inches have fallen so far.
About an inch has fallen in Denver and there haven’t been any major delays at Denver International Airport.
Between 5 and 10 inches are expected by daybreak Thursday along the Front Range.
Winter Park Resort’s Web site, checked at about noon Wednesday, indicated the ski area had received only a trace of new snow in the past 24 hours.
The National Weather Service says winds will also be increasing across the northeast Plains and says that travel eastward to Nebraska and Kansas isn’t recommended.
Snow is expected to pick up in Colorado’s mountains later Wednesday when another storm moves in from Canada.
