The SnowBall Music Festival set to take place at Grand Park in Fraser on March 8-10 has announced the complete lineup of artists who will be performing during the festival.
Headlining artists include: Pretty Lights, Sound Tribe Sector 9 (STS9), Big Gigantic, and Kendrick Lamar.
Other artists that are included in the lineup are: Portugal, The Man; Datsik; Flosstradamus; Rubblebucket; Porter Robinson; and Crizzly W/ Lil Flip.
Early bird and the holiday special tickets are already sold out, leaving general admission tickets, which cost $164 for the three-day event. VIP and “Snowballer” tickets are also available.
Known for bringing big names in the music world to small mountain towns in Colorado, SnowBall took place in Avon the past two years and is now making the move to Winter Park.
Last year the event brought more than 8,000 people to Avon, and this year’s SnowBall is expected to bring 8,000 to 10,000 people. Winter Park has not hosted an event of this size since Widespread Panic played a live show at Winter Park Resort in 2006.
The music festival promises to bring a large economic boost to Winter Park, Fraser, and the surrounding communities and businesses are preparing to accommodate to the large crowd with lodging and dining deals.
The towns have been preparing for the festival for some time now by being in contact with the event’s organizers as well as officials from Avon, who have been discussing how the previous shows ran.
Scott Ledin, director of Parks and Recreation for the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District, has been discussing the possibility of allowing local police to set up base in the Grand Park Community Recreation Center during the event.
Officers from the Fraser and Winter Park Police Department have been in contact with law enforcement officials from Avon to discuss the previous year’s show and the enforcement issues that arose during the event.
