So many great people live in Grand County

To the Editor:

I was recently in the Fraser Valley helping a friend roof his house. After living in Grand County for 14 years, our family had left to live in the Midwest, but it was good to be back. My visit solidified my views on the uniqueness of not only the mountains, but especially the people.

I arrived on a Thursday night. Friday morning my eye was irritated, by the afternoon I needed to see a doctor. The family practitioner in Fraser was in and treated me. The next day it wasn’t much better. The doctor then brought in an optometrist to help diagnose the problem. They spent Saturday and Sunday morning treating the problem. The doctor was determined to give me the same attention and care that I would receive anywhere in the states, like a big city or Mayo Clinic.

The treatment from the family practitioner and optometrist in Fraser was beyond any I have received in other places for the simple reason that I felt that their concern was genuine. It is rare when people are not only so qualified, but also so concerned for another’s well being. I commend the Fraser Valley and Grand County for attracting such wholesome people and look forward to my next visit knowing that the people are as beautiful as the scenery.
