SolVista Basin at Granby Ranch opened for the season this morning, Dec. 14.

Three lifts were running: Quick Draw Express, Milestone and Pony.

About 67 percent of beginner terrain was accessible, including Buckhorn, Jackalope, Desert Wind, Mel, Pioneer, Deer Trail, Zig, Zag and Ballroom trails.



Just over one-third of intermediate terrain was skiable, with open trails including Easy Money, Ghost Rider, High Roller and Summit Glade.

Open terrain parks include Upper Bronc Rider and Ballroom.



Resort officials said the Granby ski area has a 16 inch packed powder base.

Mudslide closes Colorado 125 in Grand County

The Colorado Department of Transportation has closed Colorado Highway 125 in Grand County while crews work to clear the route of mud, debris and snagged trees piled up on various bridges and guardrails.
