South wall completed at Chuck Lewis Rink in Kremmling

KREMMLING – The Kremmling Cattle Kings will be starting the 2010-11 season with two new rink additions: a south wall, and a new scoreboard.

The south wall, erected as phase two of rink construction, keeps players safer by protecting the ice at the south end of the rink from afternoon sun. The project was managed by DMJ General Contracting and was a collaborative effort between the hockey club and the town of Kremmling with support from the Kremmling Recreation Board.

Hanging from the wall is a new scoreboard, which replaces the scoreboard the club purchased used several years ago.

“The wall and scoreboard are exciting enhancements that will help us compete with the newer rinks,” said John Manning, Kremmling Cattle Kings Board president.

The first phase of rink development was the addition of the roof in 2008, made possible by donations from the Grand River Ranch and other private donors. Future projects are planned to keep pace with the growth of the hockey program and other rink uses.

Kremmling Cattle Kings Youth Hockey provides a recreational program that promotes the physical, mental, moral and social well-being and development of participants in a safe environment. Visit for more information.
