Golf league updates

Tuesday, July 26, the Nifty Niners had a fun day at the Grand Lake Golf Course. They played a game called "Last Chance" using only three clubs and a putter, which made the morning very interesting, to say the least. Prize winners were, Nancy Smith – 1st, Vicki Nessan 2nd, Sandra Salankey – 3rd, Jane Howe -4th and Brenda Freeman – 5th. The prize for low putts was shared by three players, Jane Howe, Lucette Kottcamp and Lynn Turnquist. Lucette Kottcamp had a par on Hole #3 and Nancy Smith had two pars, one on #4 and one on #9.
Pole Creek Ladies
On Thursday July 28 the Pole Creek Ladies golf league enjoyed a hot, breezy day playing a "Sweet Sixteen" tournament. After they completed their round of golf, they totaled their best 16 holes and subtracted their full handicap.The Low Net winners were: 1st Place Pam Brown 49, 2nd Place Diane Bishop 50, 3rd Place Cathy Malone 52. Linda Moore had the fewest putts with 28. The chip in pot was shared with Diane Bishop, Jennifer Croft, Stacy Hoffer, and Cathy Malone.
Grand Lake Mens Club
On Wednesday, July 27, Doug Johnson of the Grand Lake Mens Club hit a Hole in One on the 3rd hole, 167 yards using an 8 iron. He subsequently had the honor of celebrating with all the members in the Sly Fox bar. Although this is Doug's first Hole in One at Grand Lake it's his fifth Hole in One! Congratulations Doug.
Grand Lake Women's Golf
Match Play was the game of the day as the Grand Lake Women's Golf Assoc. stepped out onto the fairways at Grand Lake Golf Course. Winners were: Mary Ann Montgomery 7 up with 6 holes left, Pat Snyder 4 up with 2 to go, Joan Ophaug 2 up with 2 holes left, Connie Graham 3 up, 2 to go, Linda Appelhans 1 up, Maureen Delsing 2 up 1 to go, and one tie between Kathee Johnson and Jean Klanica. It was a great day on the course for the Lakers!
