Big weekend for mountain biking

Trestle Bike Park will host the 2016 Colorado Freeride Festival from July 28-31. Events include a slopstyle open, air downhill, super downhill, banana peel jam, singletrack cross county, and the Downhill Colorado State Championships. Riders from around the world will come to Winter Park to compete. There will also be many other events at the base area of the resort. The Sky-Hi News will be covering the event.
The Epic Singletrack Series will also be racing on Saturday, July 30. The race will begin near the entrance to Elk Meadow Trail, and includes sport, beginner, and pro divisions. Mileage for the race will be between 16.4-25.6 depending on the division.

ESPN’s Winter X Games is back in Aspen this week for the 20th straight year, although it’ll lack most of the usual flair. Out of precaution to safeguard against further spread of COVID-19, there won’t be any fans, any music and, well, really anything outside of the main competitions.
