Dozens compete at Grand Lake Lanes in City Bolwing Tournament

Seven teams, 16 sets of doubles and 30 singles competed on Feb.20-21 at the Grand Lake Lanes.

Capturing the 1st place Team were the “Lucky Pluckers”, team members Francie deVos, Celeste Atzman, Cindy Thompson and Terry Pratt took first with a score of 2,388. Second place was the “Fallen Angels”a team consisting of Lynne Daniels, Betts Spellerberg, Jean Peoples and Krys Boy with a score of 2,365. Taking third place was “Stump and Dump” with Yvonne Knox, Denise Knox, Erin Ackerman and Marlynn Mulder with a score of 2,358.

In the doubles competition Celeste Atzman and Terry Pratt took first with a score of 1,244, second place was Sally Blea and Molly Wilcox with a score of 1,221 and third place was Yolanda Prather and Terry Fisher with a score of 1,220.

In the singles competition first place went to Terry Pratt with a score of 665, second place to Dorothy Hammer with a 641 and third place to Diane Temple with a 631.

All events handicap winner was Celeste Atzman and the all events scratch winner was Kathy Burke.

During this event and during the bowling season which began back in September the Grand County USBC held fundraisers consisting of book sales, fun doubles tournaments bake sales and silent auctions and raised a total of $977.25 for Bowl for the Cure, and $575.50 to help promote programs for the local association.
