Fraser Valley gymnasts outshine at recent meets

The Alpine Aerials girls competed on Friday and Saturday, July 17 and 18 at Overland High School in Aurora. Results included:

Ashtyn Laraby – 2nd overall on all four events in the optional 1, 11-year-old division;

Alana Krueger – 2nd overall in the compulsory level 3, 8-year-old division, 1st on vault;

Destiny Miller – 3rd in vault in the compulsory level 3, 9-year-old division;

Emma Lence – 1st in vault, 3rd in uneven bars, 6th on beam and 4th place in the all-around, as a super 4 in an open age division in level 4 compulsory;

Olivia Maurais – 5th on vault, 6th on floor, and 3rd place all-around level 4, 7- to 9-year-old age group;

Grace Schneider – 3rd for her floor exercise routine, level 4, 10-year-old division.

Boys

The Alpine Aces Boys team also had a great showing at the C.A.R.A Boys State Meet held in Fraser at the Grand Park Community Recreation Center on Friday, July 24. Lots of silver and bronze medals were awarded to our boys who saved the State meet as their best of the season.

Chase Peterson – 2nd for his floor exercise, 2nd in parallel bars, 3rd all around, level 5, 10-year-old division;

Corte Peterson – 2nd in vault and parallel bars, 4th for his floor exercise, level 5, 11- to 18-year-old division;

Connor Murdoch – 4th in still rings and pommel horse, 6th in high bar, level 5, 10-year-old division;

Asher Michel – 2nd in parallel bars, 3rd pommel horse, 2nd all around, level 5, 9-year-old division;

David Connors – 2nd in still rings and vault, 3rd all around, level 5, 9-year-old division.
