Fraser-Winter Park " Habitat Hobble Fun Run takes off Saturday morning
Lace up your running shoes and be sure to be at the starting line Saturday for the Seventh Annual Habitat Hobble Fun Run between Fraser and Winter Park.
This year’s 5-kilometer course is new. The run/walk will follow the Fraser River Trail, beginning at the Fraser Visitor Center and ending with a great finish line party at Cooper Creek Square in downtown Winter Park.
Check-in and registration begin at 8 a.m. at the Fraser Visitor Center (Destinations West). The fun run starts at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The 5K course will follow the Fraser River through Rendezvous to the Hi Country Haus. From there the course will follow the road to Highway 40 where it will cross at Kings Crossing and follow Lion’s Gate Road to Vasquez and the finish line at Cooper Creek Square.
The finish-line party will feature live music, food, a silent auction that includes lodging, ski passes, restaurant certificates, and even a brand new whirlpool tub, face painting, a doggie splash/wash, and a drawing for a fabulous handmade quilt.
All participants will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag stuffed with items from the Hobble sponsors and Cooper Creek Square merchants.
Register at the Winter Park Visitor Center, the Fraser Visitor Center or online at http://www.playwinterpark.com.
New this year is the Habitat Team Spirit Trophy awarded to the team collecting the most donations for Habitat.
