I thought I might even win the finals, but I didnt know Phillis had been holding back in her preliminary heat where she ran a 2:13.89. But still, I was surprised and happy to take third.Berggren qualified for the 2008 USATF Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships by competing in state and regional championships earlier this summer. I think the sky is the limit for her.Jim Cajun Courville, Berggrens high school coach for both cross country and track, also attended the nationals to watch her run. He is enthusiastic about her running abilities and her future in the sport. Sam is a very special person and a great athlete, he said. She really loves to run. Its a real privilege to coach somebody like her.Berggren surprised everyone, including herself, during her freshman year as a member of Middle Park Highs cross country team.
