The Middle Park High School Alpine and Nordic Ski Teams headed to the Colorado State Skiing Championships in Aspen on Wednesday Feb. 24.

Nordic ski team students from MPHS competing in state this year include: Elizabeth Barker, Ian Carver, Kyle Ciccarelli, Katelyn Cimino, Sawyer Cousineau, Liam Fuqua, Rowan Gallagher, Raelee Granger, Jensen Hill, Darby Howard, Emily Jensen, Jake Kacik, Andre Law, Theo Loo, Logan Miyauchi, Elliot Shaw, Sierra Smith and Alyssa Petersen.

Students from MPHS competing in the state ski competition on the Alpine ski team include: Cole Riccio, Brenden Droll, Luke Compel, Elliot Shaw, Kyle Ciccarelli, Emma Enabo, Lanie Nabhan, Ryleigh Sutcliffe and Sarah Bausano.

Students who compete on both the Alpine and Nordic ski teams are called, “Ski Meisters”.

The Colorado State Skiing Championships were scheduled for Thursday Feb. 25 and Friday Feb. 26. For the Alpine skiers the giant slalom competition was held on Thu. Feb. 25 while the Slalom completion is being held on Friday Feb. 26. For Nordic skier Thursday featured the Classic Individual Start event while Friday will see the students competing in the Freestyle Mass Start event.
