HTA trails update, celebrate a new event — Pub Crawl
The temperatures are high in Grand County and everyone is busy playing and working in the sun! Our state flower, the Colorado Columbine greets us with their beauty reminding us how lucky we are to live in this beautiful state. There is a lot to fit into our schedules during these sweet months of summer in Grand County.
A special thank you to all of HTA’s volunteers that have been busy cleaning up the trails and cutting the hundreds of trees that have been falling across the trails daily. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and are greatly appreciated. A quick reminder to all of our volunteers to record all of their hours with the time on the trails and to document exactly what is accomplished. This is extremely important so HTA can document and record all of the work accomplished each month throughout the year. This helps us with future funding for further trail improvements. If you would like to set up a work day on your adopted trails or sign up for trail projects with HTA, please contact Erica Bean at 970-726-1013 or at email@example.com.
We had a successful first Trail Maintenance workshop on Tuesday. With six volunteers, we worked for two hours on upper Yankee Doodle trail in Winter Park. Everyone had fun getting in the mud, working hard and improving drainages. The spectacular views of the Fraser Valley along Corona Pass made for an inspiring and fun work environment. Look for postings for future workshops which will occur every Tuesday evening at from 5 – 7 p.m. Look for each week’s project and meeting on http://www.headwaterstrails.org or on Headwaters Trails Alliance’s Facebook page.
Another trail volunteer opportunity will be taking place every other Tuesday with Diana Lynn Rau along the Fraser-to-Granby Trail. This is another great opportunity to give back to the trails. For more information on her trail projects please call Diana Lynn Rau at 970-655-8036. These are both great and fun opportunities for high schoolers to accomplish their needed volunteer hours this summer!
Thank you to everyone who joined HTA in celebration of our trails at our Trails Night event! This was a fun evening with about 75 attendees. A special thank you to our sponsors: Fontenot’s, Pepe Osaka’s, Town of Fraser and The Winter Park/Fraser Chamber for donating the space, food and beverages for the event!
Our next celebration of trails is coming up shortly! Mark your calendars for the evening of July 9! HTA will be hosting its first pub crawl through the Town of Winter Park as a fundraiser for trails in Grand County. Look for details coming up shortly on http://www.headwaterstrails.org or call HTA at 970-726-1013 for details. Thank you to everyone for your support on the trails!
