Mclean wins Inaugural Surefoot Super Combined Race

In a race that saw only 64/100ths of a second separating the top 3 women, Shane Mclean, skiing for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, took the gold at Surefoot Colorado Ski Cup Super Combined race Dec. 19. Mclean placed second in the mornings opening Super G with a 1:07.35 and seventh in the afternoon Slalom run with a 45.39 to finish with a combined time of 1:52.74, which gave her the win.Abby Ghent, of Ski & Snowboard Club Vail, finished third in the Super G with a 1:08.05 and sixth in the slalom portion of the race with a 45.12 to finish with a total combined time of 1:53.17, giving her a second overall.Winter Parks Tracie Kroneberger captured third overall with a seventh place run in the Super G of 1:09.12 and a third in the Slalom with a 44.26 giving her a combined time of 1:53.38. The top three women were all junior racers.
