Open boating at Fraser Rec

Whitewater season is here and with it brings the dangers of the sport. Colorado is going to have a big season with the amount of snow received this year.

The knowledge required to navigate whitewater is crucial to staying safe out there.

Open boating is available in the pool at the Fraser Rec Center from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays. This is a great opportunity for kayakers to practice their roll and brace stroke without the consequences of being in moving water. It is crucial that all boats that enter the pool are washed thoroughly to prevent algae spread or other infestations.

With the high water on the way this would be a great year for boaters to get their swift water rescue certification or take a refresher course.
