Prep sports recap: East, West Grand keep up strong football seasons


The Middle Park Panthers scored a close 20-14 victory at home Friday over The Academy Wildcats.

Gabe Loberg, a Middle Park junior, had the most yards, with 91, in the match.

The Panthers will clash with the D’Evelyn Jaguars out of Denver on Friday, Sept. 28. Middle Park will face the Jaguars squad coming off a 33-7 win against Fort Lupton.

The Panthers now stand with a 3-1 season record.

The West Grand Mustangs kept their undefeated streak alive Friday as they routed host Vail Christian Saints, 48-14.

Senior Hugh Wheatley had the most touchdowns with three during the game.

With the triumph, West Grand improves its season record to 4-0.

The Mustangs next face the Rangely Panthers on Friday, Sept. 28. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 4-0.
