Prep sports recap: West and East Grand both shut out rivals Friday

The Middle Park Panthers marked a strong victory over rival Estes Park at home on Friday, ending the game with a shut-out of 28-0.

Junior Gabe Loberg ran the most yards, with 120.

In their next game, Sept. 14, the Panthers clash with the Steamboat Springs Sailors. Middle Park will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record.

The Sailors enter the match with a 1-2 record after their 21-14 non-league loss to Moffat County.

West Grand Mustangs are keeping their undefeated streak with a Friday win against the South Park Burros of Fairplay, 44-0.

Senior Luis Dominguez had the most yards with 176 in the match, along with scoring the most points during the night with 18, followed by 12 points by senior Hugh Wheatley.

With the win, West Grand improves its record to 3-0 on the season. The Mustangs will now prepare for their challenge against Plateau Valley Cowboys of Collbran. The Cowboys come into the A-8 Northwest challenge with a 0-3 record.
