Snowmobile Sno-X Races start in Granby on Saturday

Snowmobile racing enthusiasts neednt look for action because the Linke Challenge Sno-X Races are taking place at Granby this weekend.The races will be held both Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 2-3. Racing starts both days at 9:30 a.m. Admission is $5 per person. This weekends races are presented by XMR Racing, which is an organization promoting Snocross in the Central Rocky Mountain Region for all levels of racers. Snocross is an exciting and growing sport, featuring short race tracks with multiple jumps and banked turns, making it spectator friendly. Saturday and Sundays races will take place at 64606 U.S. Highway 40. From Granby, go east on Highway 40 about four miles and watch for direction signs.Concessions will be provided by REEFS (Researching Educational Exciting Frontiers Science) of Middle Park High School. The student group is selling concessions to earn enough money for a science trip to Alaska later this year.This weekends event is receiving support from Sani-King, The Trash Company, Town & Country Insurance, Everist Materials, Mountain Park Concrete, The Candy Lady, Morrow & Sons and several other local businesses.More Sno-X snowmobile races will be held at the Linke Ranch near Granby on the following weekend Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9-10.
