State track: Friday 5/16 update

LAKEWOOD—Highlights from the second day of the Colorado High School State High School Track & Field Championships on Friday, May 16, at Jeffco Stadium in Lakewood.

West Grand

•Tabor Scholl finished second (2:14.53) in the 2A girls 800-meter run.



•Casey Gore finished fourth (11-11) and Nick Ritschard finished seventh (11-5) in the 2A boys pole vault.

•Gabby Willson finished sixth (7-8) and Anna Cunico ninth (7-8) in the 2A girls pole vault.



•The boys 4×100 relay team qualified 8th with a time of 45.46 and will compete in the finals on Saturday.

•Nick Ritschard won his 300-meter hurdles heat, but was disqualified for impeding another runner, who happened to be his teammate Ivan Mendoza. Mendoza was allowed a rerun, but his time wasn’t quick enough to advance him to the finals.

Middle Park

•TaLise Hansen ran a 50.62 in her 300-meter hurdles heat, but did not advance to the finals.

•The girls 4×400 relay team finished 15th in qualifying (4:21.78) and will not advance to the finals on Saturday.
