Have fun playing golf and help support a good cause by participating in the Fourth Annual Cozens Cup Golf Tournament at Pole Creek Golf Course on Saturday.

A fundraising tournament for the Fraser River Valley Lions Club, the Cozens Cup is a four-person scramble format, 18 holes with cart. A shotgun start tee-off is set for 9 a.m. Saturday.

Entry fee is $125 per player or $500 for a team. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will be distributed by the Lions to nonprofit organizations in Grand County. The Lions also give $10,000 annually in college scholarships to local high school graduates.

Those participating in the Cozens Cup tournament have the chance to win the $20,000 Hole-In-One Prize as well as flight prizes for top teams. Lots of contest and door prizes will be awarded. Some of the prizes includes rounds of golf at Pole Creek, Headwaters, Grand Lake and Grand Elk courses.

The schedule of events Saturday at the Pole Creek Golf Club is: Famous Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at 7:30 a.m.; shotgun start tee-off, 9 a.m.; Bratwurst lunch after the first nine holes; and awards ceremony (snacks and cash bar) at 2 p.m.

A raffle will be held that is open to both golfers and tournament visitors. A Karen Vance signed and numbered giclee entitled “Another Spring” will be awarded. Raffle tickets are $5 each or six for $25.

Golfers and visitors are also invited to browse through the silent auction items that include a three-day stay at Canyon Ranch, an Aspen cabin vacation, golfing in Sedona, wood carvings, a 6-foot sub from Subway and much more.

A golf ball drop contest will take place Saturday from a Grand Adventure Balloon Tours hot air balloon. If a participant’s numbered ball makes a hole-in-one, that person will win $1,000.
