Weekend prep roundup: WG’s Scholl wins state cross country title

West Grand’s Tabor Scholl won the 2A girls state cross country championship on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Norris-Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs. Scholl finished in a time of 19:59.7.

Middle Park’s Mark Simmons finished in 105th place out of 255 runners in the 3A boys race.


West Grand lost their final regular season game to undefeated Vail Christian 54-6 on Friday evening, Oct. 24, in Kremmling. West Grand finishes 3-5 in the league and 4-5 overall.

Middle Park picked up their second win in a row with a 57-6 win over Jefferson on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25, in Lakewood. Middle Park finishes the season 2-5 record in the Frontier League and 2-7 overall.


In district volleyball play on Friday, Oct 24, in Oak Creek, West Grand defeated Hotchkiss 3-2, then lost to Cedaredge 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-16).
