Sky-Hi News Staff

The Winter Park Pub is the site of a fundraiser for Grand County Search and Rescue on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Each ticket include a beer and a raffle ticket. Raffle tickets will also be sold for giveaways like snowboards and gear.

A showing of the movie Higher by James Jones and Teton Gravity Research will headline the event. The trailer may be viewed at http://goo.gl/pOVHau.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. GCSAR will deliver an avalanche safety presentation around 7:45 p.m.

“We love doing local education events like this,” says John Sanderson, GCSAR president. “The community is always very supportive and involved. Jeff Williams, from the Winter Park Pub, is a tremendous believer in our mission; particularly related to the life and death education about avalanche safety.”
