Winter Park Resort hosts U.S. Freestyle Team Selections this week

Winter Park ” Huge back- and front-flips, off-axis 720 spins and other stunts will be thrilling spectators as top mogul skiers compete for spots on the U.S. Freestyle Team at Winter Park Resort this week.

Two-time Olympian Jeremy Bloom and top mogul skiers from across the nation and the world will compete during the U.S. Freestyle Team’s Selections from Tuesday through Sunday, Dec. 16-21.

This week’s competition will feature the U.S. Freestyle C Team and some of the very best up-and-coming mogul skiers from across the nation. Adding to the mix will be development teams from Canada and Japan.



The importance of the Winter Park event for American mogul skiers cannot be stressed enough because they will be vying to win spots on this season’s U.S. Freestyle Ski Team as well as a berth on the World Cup Circuit.

Spectators are encouraged to attend and cheer on the competitors. The selection events will be held at Winter Park’s challenging Ambush Venue.



The U.S. Freestyle Selections’ action-packed schedule of events includes: Tuesday, Dec. 16 – Arrival/Training; Wednesday, Dec. 17 – Training; Thursday, Dec. 18 – Mogul #1; Friday, Dec. 19 ” Training; Saturday, Dec. 20 – Mogul #2; and Sunday, Dec. 21 – Dual Mogul.

Competition officials say Sunday’s duals competition will be especially exciting because the mogul skiers will be going head-to-head trying to beat one another to win a spot on the U.S. Team.
