XTERRA triathlon postponed to August 20
Organizers of the XTERRA Winter Park triathlon have postponed the race until August 20. The race was scheduled to start Saturday, August 5 at Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby but due to poor trail conditions organizers canceled the race for safety reasons. In an email from the race director, Paul Karlsson, he states, “For the first time in 26 years of producing events we had to cancel a race. Last Friday was the second straight day of hard rain in Grand County. Thus, it had left portions of the bike and run courses unusable. Race morning brought light rain and temperatures in the mid 40s, not a safe venue that day.”
Karlsson is reopening registration until Thursday August 18.
