St. John the Baptist to welcome new pastor

The Rev. Matthew Frye will be arriving at St. Johns the Baptist Church, located in Granby, in early April. He comes from the Church of the Redeemer in Eagle Pass, Texas, where he has been for the past three-and-a-half years. Ordained in December 2002, Frye holds a Masters of Divinity from Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, a Master of Arts Elementary School Counselling and a Bachelor of Arts both from the University of Northern Colorado. He has held pastoral leadership positions, such as rector, assistant rector, school chaplain and director of discipleship, in parishes in Pennsylvania and Texas prior to his position in Granby.

Personal and professional interests and qualifications include certification as a “Daring Way” facilitator, a presenter for a faith-based response to mental illness (NAMI), membership in the United Ways child abuse coalition, school counselling and education. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. Frye is married and is the father of two grown sons.
