Storms could bring snow, flash floods to S.W. Colorado

DENVER (AP) – Storms moving into Colorado are expected to dump up to a foot of snow in the southwest mountains and unleash heavy rains that could cause flash floods in the south-central part of the state.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash-flood warning starting Friday evening that includes Durango, Bayfield, Ignacio and Pagosa Springs.

And heavy snow is predicted starting late Friday afternoon for the San Juan Mountains in southwest Colorado. A foot or more of snow could fall at the higher elevations.
