Suspect in Winter Park taxi theft arrested

Sky-Hi News staff report
Winter Park, CO Colorado

A Valley Taxi was stolen outside Ullr’s Tavern in Winter Park shortly after midnight on Sunday.

According to the Grand County Dispatch report the van was left running. Shortly after the report, a Winter Park Police officer spotted the van at the Winter Park Pub, just across the street. The officer contacted a staff member of the Pub who identified a man who just came in the bar. According to Police Chief Glen Trainor, when the suspect saw the police officer enter the bar, he tried to leave.

The suspect denied stealing the van; however, after the officer reviewed the video taken from inside the van, the suspect was identified.

Joshua Denhardt, 28, of Colorado Springs was arrested and charged with aggravated motor vehicle theft and driving under the influence. Denhardt was taken to the Grand County jail. He was released later the same day after he posted a $2,000 bond.
