Tabernash – Pole Creek Golf Club open house celebration on for Saturday
The grand opening celebration for the new Pole Creek Clubhouse will take place from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Pole Creek Golf Course.
The public is invited to enjoy appetizers from the new restaurant, a cash bar and tours of the new $3.5 million clubhouse. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 5:30 p.m.
“We’re very proud of the new clubhouse,” said Larry Burks, general manager of the Pole Creek Golf Club. “This greatly improves the golfing experience at Pole Creek and will enhance the reputation of the Fraser Valley as a top-notch recreation destination for visitors and locals.”
The former clubhouse was a modular structure that lacked space for a pro shop, cart storage, dining and a lounge area. The new structure offers expanded and improved space for all those needs.
The new clubhouse was approved as part of the $19.5 million bond issue passed by the voters of the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District in November 2007.
Construction on the clubhouse started last fall. A certificate of occupancy was received from the county in late May. Big Valley Construction of Granby was the general contractor on the project.
“It’s a pleasure to see such a great new clubhouse at Pole Creek,” said Dan O’Connell, president of the board of directors for the recreation district. “The new clubhouse is an important aspect of the golfing experience in the Fraser Valley. I encourage people to come out and look at their new clubhouse.”
