Take Winter Park’s climate action survey to help shape sustainability goals and get free swag

Lake Powell is seen in a November 2019 aerial photo from the nonprofit EcoFlight. Keeping enough water in the reservoir to support downstream users in Arizona, Nevada and California is complicated by climate change as well as projections that the upper basin states of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and New Mexico will use as much as 40% more water than current demand.

A recently launched Climate Action Program is working to make the town of Winter Park more environmentally sustainable. The town invites community members to take its Climate Action Survey at WPGov.com/Take-Our-Climate-Action-Survey. The town stated that community members who take the survey will help them finalize their climate action goals.

Those who take the survey will receive a free artist-designed T-shirt which can be picked up at future Climate Action Program events, including the Clean Up Day of June 18 or Farmers Markets on June 19, Aug. 7 and Aug. 28.

Community members can also speak with Mia Dorris, sustainable community coordinator, about the town’s Climate Action Plan. Those who sign up for this 15-minute interview by emailing climate@wpgov.com can receive free Cotopaxi gear.
