Terrell Mathews – Obamacare’s bait and switch?
March 5, 2010
To the Editor:
Do I correctly understand the Obamacare Health Bill as it relates to Reconciliation?
• The House of Representatives must pass the Senate’s Bill with absolutely no changes.
• If the House changes one word, the Bill must return to the Senate for a new vote and is subject to filibuster.
• The Senate Bill cannot include any of the four GOP recommendations or changes that Obama cites in the bill that he has been lobbying over the last few days.
• If the House includes Obama’s changes, the Bill must return the Senate for a new vote and is subject to filibuster.
So, if I am correct, how does Obama’s rewritten bill get passed without first baiting us with the current Senate version, then switching to his at a later date? In any event, the plan is to force Obamacare on a predominately unsupportive citizenship. Right?
