Texas woman suspected of stealing $451,755 from Grand County ranch

HOT SULPHUR SPRINGS — An arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday, Jan. 7, in District Court for 46-year-old Elizabeth Carmichael on suspicion of felony theft, according to a statement from the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.

The warrant says Carmichael is suspected in the theft of $451,755 from Bear Mountain Ranch between 2009 and 2012 while she was an employee of the ranch. Bond was set at $20,000 for Carmichael, who resides in Texas, according to the statement.

The warrant was the result of a nearly two-year investigation by the sheriff’s office.
