Numerous people donated delicious cookies and greeted music lovers at the door. The finale of the evening was the singing of the famous Hallelujah Chorus directed by Jeff Shaw. Karenna Chen, age 6, from Kingston, Ontario, Canada, said “What is there not to like about all those Hallelujahs?”
Following the song session everyone assembled downstairs at the YMCA for refreshments and entertainment by the new quartet called One A-Chord. My heartfelt thanks to all of you who participated or simply absorbed all this good music.
The YMCA staff were excellent hosts of the highest sung Messiah in the USA.
Nathan, our flip chart pro, provided this comment afterwards, “Who is Gloria anyway? Why do you all sing about her?”
The Fraser Valley and mountaintops are filled with good music as a result of this spirited singing and community effort. My appreciation to everyone.
