Thanks to all who saved home from fire
To the Editor:
On June 3 we had a small fire in the crawl space of our home. If it were not for the quick response of my son, Don, our neighbors, Dan and Amy Zacek-Smith and Ken Wright, our small fire might not have been so small.
Special thanks to Ken for entering our smoke-filled crawl space and extinguishing the fire with our fire extinguisher before the fire department arrived. Thank you to Dave Boyes and all of the Granby volunteer firefighters who responded so quickly as well as the Granby Police Officers, Jeff Baukman and Joe Sanchez and the Grand County EMS, Chief Ray Jennings and his crew.
Thanks to Ron Thurston who came after the fire to check out our electrical system to make sure all was OK before we turned the power back on. Thank you to my boss, Alan Carter, who came to see if we were all right and if we needed anything.
I cannot express enough how thankful we are to live in Granby with such wonderful and caring people. We cannot stress how important it is to have a fire extinguisher in your home. We hope we did not forget anyone, but if we did we apologize. Again, thank you to everyone who assisted in our emergency.
