The Frigid-Airs to perform at Snowball, Feb. 11

GRANBY – A winter conglomeration of popular Grand County musicians, called The Frigid-Airs, is set to perform at the Winter Carnival Snowball, set for 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at the SolVista Basin base lodge.

“With Arnie Green and Walter Holland out front for the Frigid-Airs, this band will play music that’s sure to keep people’s toes-a-tappin’,” said Patrick Brower, the drummer for the band. Warren Ward will be playing bass.

Arnie Green, popular in Summit County, Grand County and across the Rocky Mountain West, is renowned for his soulful and unique interpretations of blues and rock standards. Green has been performing in the Rockies for more than 25 years.

Walter Holland, a reed-player, singer and composer, has led and played with a variety of musical groups in Grand County and the Denver area for two decades. His soaring saxophone solos and keyboard accompaniment round out the lead section of the Frigid-Airs.

Warren Ward has been the bass-playing pulse behind Grand County bands since his days at West Grand High School. Brower rounds out the rhythm section with funky solid drumming.

The band starts at 6 with a lighter dinner set and then will finish off the night with dance music and a party atmosphere.
