The history of EMS

The Grand County Historical Association presented a fun program of the history of EMS in Grand County on Thursday, May 26. Ida Sheriff was the first EMT of Grand County. Joanne Anderson and Ilene Heeney also devoted many years of service to the County’s Emergency Medical Services. The program was filled with their stories of the old days of ambulances and the supplies they held (or didn’t hold as the case may be). Posing in front of the modern day EMS Ambulance are left to right: Ray Jennings, GC EMS Chief, JoAnne Anderson of Granby, Ilene Heeney of Kremmling, and Ida Sheriff of Hot Sulphur Springs.
