This week in local history: Crews begin clearing Trail Ridge Road
The Rocky Mountain National park road maintenance crew began the arduous task of clearing the snow from Trail Ridge Road last week. Snow on lower elevations of the road is still at least four feet deep, and the crew expects to encounter deeper drifts as they climb higher. Officials set Memorial Day as the target date for the opening of Trail Ridge Road.
