Tim Rau will live on through those he touched
To the Editor:
I am a cousin of Tim Rau from Kansas City. First of all I would like to thank you for the beautiful articles that Tonya Bina wrote about Tim. The coverage was incredible and we appreciate you telling his story.
I would also like to send my sincere thanks and appreciation to the community in Grand County. I can never express enough thanks to all the people who came to support my Aunt Diana Lynn and Uncle Charlie in honor of Timmy. We too are grateful to all the people that provided lodging, food, transportation, and support to all of our family.
I was so moved to walk into the services on Saturday and see all the people that came to honor Tim’s life. We are all truly blessed by your support and I loved hearing all the wonderful and funny stories of what Tim, Charlie and Diana mean to all of you. To all of his friends, thank you for sharing the joy.
Tim has always been an inspiration to us – “little cuz,” you always made us laugh and showed us how to LIVE life to its fullest. As Rev. Gretchen Wilson Bretz so eloquently stated, we should all learn to truly live in the face of death. Tim is a true testament of overcoming all odds, never letting obstacles get in your way, and always maintaining a sense of humor. He broke the barriers with determination and an infectious smile. Tim will be greatly missed but through all of you, he will live on.
