Toddler found in Arkansas River dies

CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) – A 2-year-old boy is dead after being found in the icy Arkansas River in southern Colorado.

The family of Sean Marques says he wandered off from his home in Canon City on Thursday afternoon. KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs reports searchers found him partially submerged in ice about two hours later. He was about an eighth of a mile from home.

The toddler died at a hospital later that evening.

About 100 people turned out to help search for Sean.
