Traffic restrictions lifted on Berthoud Pass
WINTER PARK, Colorado – Full traffic flow has been restored to U.S. 40 over Berthoud Pass after the westbound lane was closed earlier today in the wake of a single semi-trailer rollover accident.
The trailer was hauling solid trash on Berthoud Pass when the accident occurred about three miles east of Winter Park at mile marker 236 near Mary Jane.
Within the first hour, the trailer leaked about five gallons from its fuel tank, according to Colorado Department of Transportation spokesperson Bob Wilson. Clean-up efforts are under way.
The accident happened just after 11 a.m. Full two-way traffic flow was restored at 3:10 p.m., according to CDOT.
