Trestle opens Saturday

Winter Park Resort opens for the summer season this weekend with the 9th annual Winter Park Chocolate Festival coinciding with the start of operations at Trestle Bike Park.

“Thanks to the tireless work of the Trestle Trail Crew, 85 percent of the bike park will be open (with more trails added constantly) and for the first time in six years Opening Day will feature top to bottom riding,” states a press release from the resort.

Among the list of trails that will open on Saturday are Green World, Long Trail, Shy Ann, and Rainmaker. The new trail Dirty Dozen will also be open for riders.

“With the ongoing replacement of the Zephyr Express lift, Trestle Bike Park will be serviced by both the Gemini Express and Eskimo Express lifts,” stated Resort officials.

Winter Park Resort’s Chocolate Festival will kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The event will feature 20 different vendors, according to officials from the resort. The Chocolate Festival will be held in the Village at Winter Park and will also feature live music and entertainment.

Additionally Winter Park Resort’s base activates, including the alpine slide, putting golf, and other activities will also be open for the summer along with the Village restaurants and shops.
