The Fraser Board of Trustees met April 2 at town hall and passed a resolution supporting a Mountain Passenger Rail station within the town of Fraser.
The town has been identified as a potential stop on the proposed passenger rail line between Denver and Craig. By passing the resolution, the town states it is in support of a station at the existing Fraser-Winter Park Amtrak station and is committed to working with the Colorado Department of Transportation on the project.
CDOT’s Cody Hedges delivered a presentation at the meeting.
Trustee Lewis Gregory asked Hedges if the project would have any impact on the Winter Park Express line. Hedges explained that the department is planning on keeping the Winter Park Express line but that details have not been decided in regard to timing of stops.
After a few more questions, the trustees voted to approve the resolution, and it passed unanimously.

- Developer Clark Lipscomb spoke during the public comment period to ask the town to fulfill his records requests for certain documents. Kevin Rifkin, with Outwest Investments, also spoke during public comment to express his concerns about town staff’s progress with work related to Outwest’s ongoing projects.
- Trustees passed a resolution that approved a final plat and major site plan for the Ascent Condominiums, a multifamily development located near the current XSports building, formerly known as Ski Broker. The proposed development will convert the XSports building from all commercial space to residential uses in addition to building other units on nearby lots. The total result will be a total of 27 for-sale multifamily condo units. Town staff recommended that the board approve the resolution with some conditions.
- The board considered a resolution for approving a final plat for The Village at Grand Park Filing 3. Certain lots depicted in the final plat are locations where construction is currently ongoing, but these lots were not subdivided/platted. Town staff recommended approval of the final plat subject to certain conditions. The board approved the resolution with certain conditions.
- A resolution was passed that ratified an amendment to allow the town to purchase a piece of land at 208 E. Eisenhower Drive for $525,000.
