Grand County, CO Colorado

Autopsies will be conducted Tuesday on the two bodies a Bureau of Land Management employee found in Grand County on Saturday, according to County Coroner Brenda Bock.

On Monday morning, Bock said the Grand County Sheriff’s Office hadn’t yet positively identified the bodies. She said family members will be notified before the information is released to the public.

Shortly after noon on Saturday, Dec. 17, a Bureau of Land Management worker found a white van with two dead people inside near the Colorado River just off County Road 1, also known as the Trough Road, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.

A BLM spokesman referred all inquiries to the Sheriff’s Office.

The deceased individuals and the van are from the Denver area and appeared to have been there for several days before they were found, according to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the deaths.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
