Unconscious Grand County inmate taken on Flight For Life

An inmate from the Grand County Jail was taken out of Grand County on a Flight For Life helicopter Wednesday morning, July 6, after deputies discovered him unconscious Wednesday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m.

A press released issued on behalf of the Grand County Sheriff’s Office states, “This is believed to be a suicide attempt. Deputies immediately activated the 911 system and began CPR.”

The inmate was transported to Flight For Life by Grand County EMS.

Wednesday morning shortly after noon Grand County Undersheriff Wayne Schafer confirmed the incident but declined to disclose additional details as the situation remained in flux. The name of the inmate is not being released at this time.
