Union Pacific to Install Crossing Arms at Blind Railroad Crossing

Railroad crossing arms and signal lights will be installed near the intersection of County Road 57 and Highway 40, about three miles west of Granby by the old Hitching Post. Grant funds from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) are paying for the project. The railroad crossing has been a longtime safety concern due to trains approaching from the east at 40 miles per hour around the blind corner. Work is expected to begin Saturday, April 24, and end around May 20. If you have questions, please contact Grand County Road & Bridge at 970-887-2123.
