‘Unresponsive’ Grand Lake 3-year-old taken to Denver-area hospital

The Grand County Sheriff’s Office announced that at 12:57 p.m. Wednesday its dispatch center received a 911 call reporting an “unresponsive 3-year-old child” at a residence in the Grand Lake area.

Emergency units from Grand County EMS and Grand Lake Fire Department as well as Sheriff’s deputies responded to the residence. The child was taken by ambulance to the Granby Medical Center for treatment and later transported to a Denver-area hospital.

In a press release, the Sheriff’s Office stated an investigation is currently under way by its investigators as well as District Attorney’s Office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to determine the cause of the child’s injuries.

Information about the child’s condition was not available at press time.
