USPS reports problems with ballots

The Primary Election is Tuesday, June 28 and ballots for the election were mailed on June 6.

On Wednesday, June 22 Sara Rosene, Clerk and Recorder for Grand County received notification from the Secretary of State’s Office that the USPS General Mail Facility in Denver is experiencing software problems that affects its ability to read the barcode on mail ballot envelopes. The county is slowing receiving ballots.

Voters can check http://www.govotecolorado.com, call 970-725-3065, or email questions to grandelections@co.grand.co.us to see if their ballot has been received by the County Clerk and Recorder.

“If my office has not received a voter’s ballot, the voter can vote at the County Administration Building at 308 Byers Avenue, Hot Sulphur Springs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; Saturday June 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m; .and Tuesday, June 28 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.,” said Rosene.
