Vanessa Rus: Colorado voters exercise common sense
To the Editor:
My husband and I wanted to thank the state of Colorado and the voters for having the smarts to vote NO on Proposition 103.
The education system may be flawed, but perhaps the solution is firing failing teachers and removing the unions that keep them so we can give a raise to the teachers that actually teach their students properly.
Fire the teachers who know nothing, save the ones that teach well and remove all the rest of the bureaucracy that enjoys spending tax dollar money on garbage that has no place in the education system to begin with.
Also … we wanted to thank the voters in Fort Collins for banning all medical marijuana facilities in their county. One of the smartest choices made in Colorado so far as to ban a fallacy that does nothing more than promote a drug that is the gateway to hardcore drugs. Thank you again Fort Collins for making sure that medical marijuana is NOT a part of your county.
Now … let’s get the rest of Colorado educated enough to ban this ridiculous form of “medication” OUT of Colorado. There is no scientific or logical proof to show that this “idea” of medical marijuana does anything to help physical or mental health issues. It only shows that crime rises and that many who have medical marijuana licenses sell the drug to minors and other addicts or curious users in general. Nothing beneficial about that.
Thank you Colorado voters for using common sense on both issues.
